About this Event

The Annual Fundraising Brunch will be an occasion to celebrate our scholars. The event is hosted at the Crowne Plaza Crystal City with delicious hors d’oeurves, open bar, music, raffle, and a silent auction.

This is a milestone event for our annual fundraising campaign. As such, your ticket purchase (which is a tax-deductible donation) will generate funding for our 2023 scholars.  Tickets are $150 per attendee for purchases before November 27, 2022 and $175 per attendee after November 27, 2022 A two ticket package can be purchased for $250 before November 27, 2022 and $290 after November 27, 2022.

We were able to provide eight young parents with scholarships for college last year. We're hoping to expand our reach this year through your generosity.

For every parent, police, friends, siblings, clergy, men programs..etc, that have told your male children or males "men don't cry" "men don't show emotions" "police, you can't handle your household" "man ant no sucker" you've helped develop the beast in men, a generation of men that aren't in touch with their emotions and much less controlling his emotions. DC Healthy Start is teaming up with DC Library to encourage fatherhood involvement and promote early childhood literacy. We would like to invite fathers with children 5 & under to participate in reading workshops with their children, learn knowledgeable parenting skills, and take home books and other incentives to further develop a positive relationship between father and child.These learning and experiences that children engage in before entering school are not only crucial to preparing them for years of success, but also aid in assessing any learning deficiencies a child might encounter down the road.

Next Thursday Fire CEO Devin Anderson will be teaming up with DC Healhty Start, Mary's Center & DC Library to host a Father's Day Kickoff event at Dorothy Heights Library in NE Dc. There will be Free Food, Vendors, Music, and plenty of fun things to do for the kids!!
